Casio G-Shock

Casio G-Shock

Casio G Shock Series

The line of G shock series is manufactured by Casio, a Japanese electronics manufacturing company. G Shock watches are popular in Australia and worldwide due to its resistance capabilities to mechanical stress or vibration and durability.  This series was designed by Casio with triple 10 layer innovative concept. The design needed survival from a 10m fall with 10-year battery and 10-bar water resistance. Several prototypes were tested with some improvement each time.

G shock gets its limelight starting from how DW-5000C survived the impact from a hockey stick. The popularity kept on increasing every year and with new addition of features.

Later, Baby G was also added by Casio for Women.

Is G shock a master piece and why its popular?

G Shock watches MRG Series:

The scratch resistance of the titanium utilised in the MR-G case and band is remarkable. The titanium is heated in a combination of oxygen and nitrogen gas and then applied to the material’s outer surface to form a 20-30m hard coating. It makes the actual substance harder than pure titanium, unlike a film. The case, band, and buckle, as well as each of the links inside the band, are all coated with a strong amorphous carbon film made of carbon and hydrogen and then DLC treated to make them wear resistant.

G-Shock GravityMaster:

One of the most fascinating and popular G-Shock speciality lines is the Gravitymaster Aviation Series. It’s part of the Master of G line, which means it’s up to date and designed for professional use. In Japan, the aviation models are referred to as the Gravitymaster or Sky Cockpit series.

Every aspect of aviation Gravitymaster watches are large-size watches with analogue screens. They are shock resistant and water resistant to 200 metres. Shock, centrifugal gravity (g-forces), and high vibration are all protected by Triple G Resist in some Gravitymaster versions.

Cult-Classic G-Shock GA2100 1-A-1 ‘CasiOak’

Cult-Classic G-Shock GA2100 1-A-1 ‘CasiOak’

Cult-Classic G-Shock GA2100 1-A-1 ‘CasiOak’

A G-Shock knows nothing of ostentation. It doesn’t care about the distinction of its wearer. It’s remarkably unfussy. There’s something about a G-Shock that goes against the core principles of purist watch obsessives. It works off a small circuit board and has tech-forward materials. And it was born in 1983, centuries after the era when the first watchmakers started writing the history of the mechanical timepiece.

History

And yet, the G-Shock GA2100 1-A-1 is perhaps the single G-Shock that’s most likely to convert people who don’t generally embrace the line of rugged watches. Historically, Casio has indulged in the frequent introduction of new G-Shock models. Since Kikuo Ibe introduced the hard-wearing watch to the world, the range of models has grown dramatically. Certain models spawning sub-followings within the larger G-Shock world. But the GA2100 1-A-1 has found popularity with folks beyond the typical G-Shock fanbase.

Case

So how does this watch manage to charm like the best of them? To start, it’s the thinnest G-Shock currently in production. The case is 11.8mm tall, and even more, it wraps around the wrist in a way that makes it feel even thinner. The plastic case is practically weightless. By design, there’s little room between the 48.5mm case and the watch bacause of the angle of the strap.

Carbon Core Guard

The case is wrapped around with the Carbon Core Guard tech. It is constructed with a thin layer of carbon fiber in order to bolster its strength. This helps to decrease the overall material usage without sacrificing any strength. The Carbon Core Guard doesn’t change the feeling on the wrist, but it does inspire a sense of confidence that the watch would be fine even if it were run over by a car. There’s a reason why G-Shocks are often worn by military and law enforcement personnel.

Specifications

And what’s more in Cult-Classic G-Shock GA2100 1-A-1 ‘CasiOak’, it’s still very much an analog piece in that it features a traditional dial layout. Casio, king of digital timekeeping, is still fighting the good fight when it comes to keeping analog alive with the GA2100 1-A-1. Sort of. There is a digital display on the southeast quadrant of the dial, and that’s where you can cycle through all the aforementioned functions. And of course it lights up by pressing the clearly labeled “light” button at 2 o’clock. There’s even an analog day indicator at 9 o’clock.

Display

This variant of the GA-2100 flies under the radar with a stealthed-out aesthetic. The display features greyed hands against a dial that looks like it was 3D printed. The indices have enough dimensionality that it isn’t too difficult to tell the time in this ana-digi design. But don’t worry, this is a G-Shock after all, and you can still display the time on the digital screen.

The GA-2100 1-A-1 doesn’t ask you for much and it returns more than you’ve put in. It does have its flaws, of course, legibility being chief among them – but it does what it needs to do with a bit of flair and personality. It isn’t good at everything, but it comes through when it counts. That’s about all you can ask of a watch, at any price.

G-SHOCK MTG

G-SHOCK MTG

G-SHOCK MTG, Innovative toughness with advanced technologies across every aspect, from materials and construction to features and design.

Durable, stylish stainless steel is combined with lightweight, rigid carbon fiber-reinforced resin. New construction combines different materials in the next evolution of the original MT-G metal case.

Next in line within the G-SHOCK Premium range is MT-G. Standing for ‘Metal Twister G-SHOCK’, the MT-G is a tough but luxurious timepiece taking shock resistant technology and transforming it into a stainless steel structure.

Dual Core Guard Structure Combining Metal and Carbon

Uses original G-Shock MT-G Metal Core Guard and latest reinforced Carbon Core Guard structure. A monocoque case made from carbon fiber-reinforced resin is inside a metal frame that joins the bezel and outer case, for a strong, well-sealed, lightweight construction.

G-SHOCK MTG METAL BEZEL

Seperate bezel and outer case construction means each can be finished in different colors, conveying the solid feel of metal while allowing for a broader range of color..

The bezel is a piece that is separate from the metal frame, which enables greater coloring versatility. The elegantly attractive mirror finish of the exterior metal parts gives these watches their distinctive look. The elegance of these models is further enhanced by high-transparency sapphire crystals, as well as hour markers and inset dials that are precision engraved at the CASIO Yamagata Factory.

New lightweight metal models, with newly advanced shock-resistant structures, are the latest additions to the MT-G lineup that packs the latest that technology has to offer into shock-resistant designs that combine metal and resin materials.

A Carbon Core Guard structure combines with the Metal Core Card structure to create a new Dual Core Guard structure, which houses a module protected by an integrated carbon monocoque case and exterior metal parts. The New Layered Composite Bands of these models use hollow metal segments that encase fine resin parts, providing the elegant feel of metal along with weight that is 15% less than that of previous models. The metal frames have a new type of slide lever mechanism that makes band replacement quicker and simpler, and metal is also used for the outer case sides.
